Newtown Library Company’s Penn Chair Travel Series presents: Peg & Doug Levin and Bhutan
Where: Newtown Library Company
When: February 23, 2017 @ 7PM
Who: Peg and Doug Levin
The Kingdom of Bhutan lies in the eastern Himalayas, between Tibet to the north and the Indian territories of Assam and West Bengal to the south. Opening for tourism only in 1974, Bhutan remains one of world’s most exclusive tourist destinations.
The Penn Chair Traveler Series invites you to join Peg and Doug Levin as they go hiking and biking through this exotic land.
Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. Come hear about Doug and Peggy’s experiences and see some of the pictures and videos they took while traveling through South Asia.
A suggested $10 donation to the Newtown Library Company is requested to offset the cost of refreshments provided after each presentation. Please reserve your seat by calling the Library at (215)968-7659 or emailing librarian@newtownlibrary.com.
