Weekly Storytime takes place in our bright and inviting children’s reading room. With its large windows, spacious window seat, bright colors, reading nook, and hundreds of children’s books, this is a place where your kiddos will love to spend time. After Storytime, they can choose their own books to read, building early literacy skills and fostering a love for literature.

Calling all poets, poets-in-training, and poetry lovers: we invite you to drop in (or stay awhile) and hear notable guest poets share their work and work-in-progress. Hosted by Kathleen Mulholland.
Calling all knitters, crocheters, needleworkers, and craft lovers! Bring your latest project and join us for an evening of conversation, creativity, and community. Whether you’re an experienced crafter or just getting started, all are welcome. Come stitch with us and enjoy some time with fellow craft enthusiasts!

Mahjong is a tile-based game from 19th-century China, usually played by four people with a set of 144 tiles marked in suits, winds, and dragons. Players draw and discard in turn, racing to be first to assemble a complete hand of four sets (runs or triplets) plus a pair.
This special evening event is a fundraiser benefiting the Newtown Library Company and takes place outside of our regular library hours. Preregistration is required, so please reserve your spot in advance.

Rummikub is a 1940s Israeli game played with 106 tiles numbered 1 to 13 in four colors, plus two jokers. Players lay down runs and same-number groups, and the twist is that once tiles are on the table anyone can rearrange them to fit their own plays.
